An iron driveway gate on masonry columns, built by Johnson Services Company.

Driveway gates

The one part of a fence that moves, hung by the company that has hung thousands.

A driveway gate answers a different question than a fence, access rather than boundary, so it has its own page. Swing or slide, iron or cedar, on operators that carry a UL 325 listing.

The gate opens from your car, your kitchen or your phone, and the same crew that set the fence hangs it.

Price a fence before you call

See what a fence costs before anyone quotes you.

Pick the material, the height and how many feet of fence, and the calculator shows the market range for a fence like yours in Texas. Then a salesperson measures the real one in your yard and the number comes back the same day.

  • These guys are great 😊 👍 They charged almost $900.00 less than three other companies for the same metal, coating and paint for my black metal fence in Del Webb of The Woodlands…Thanks Matthew.

  • Options were presented to work within our budget. Supervisor confirmed timeline, crew arrived promptly, confirmed work scope, worked efficiently and left the property clean.

  • I have had Johnson services first – put in a perimeter fence, then- add a front gate, then add a side gate, then recently a back gate- I have been very pleased with all of their work, their workers, their sales person, and office staff. Thank you very much!!! This is over a 3 year period- still satisfied.

  • Great work. We had two gates installed in the back yard and all fence posts wrapped in cedar. Turned out amazing. Great communication and pricing was fair. I’d use Johnson Services Company again.

Common questions about a new fence

How long does the work take?

Most back yards finish the day the crew starts, because the crew counted and loaded every material before the truck left our yard. A long fence, heavy gates or a stubborn tear-out can take it into a second day, and your salesperson gives you the day count before you sign anything.

Do you haul the old fence away?

Yes, all of it. The old panels, the old posts and the concrete they sat in leave with the crew that day. Removal and haul-off are in the one price, never a line added to your bill afterward.

Do I need a permit for a new fence?

A residential fence in Texas rarely needs one. Your city or your HOA can still cap the height or set which side the finished face goes on. We check both before a post goes in the ground, which is one of the reasons the date holds.

What does the warranty cover?

One year of craftsmanship on every job, and across more than 20,000 jobs last year not one customer needed it. It covers our work: how the posts sit, how the frame hangs, how the gates swing and latch. Materials carry whatever their maker puts on them.

How soon can you start?

About four days after you sign the quote, on a typical job. A hundred crews means one is free when you are. Storm weeks run longer, and your salesperson will tell you plainly when that is happening rather than let you find out.

Can I pay for a fence monthly?

Yes. Financing is available through Synchrony, a third party. Ask your salesperson for the terms when your quote comes back. Then build the fence that fits the payment you are comfortable with.
