Price a fence before you call
See what a fence costs before anyone quotes you.
Pick the material, the height and how many feet of fence, and the calculator shows the market range for a fence like yours in Texas. Then a salesperson measures the real one in your yard and the number comes back the same day.
The estimate is free and there is nothing to sign.
How it works
A hundred crews, so the date we give you is the date you get
You call, or you send the form
A salesperson picks up when one is free. Otherwise you get a call back, almost always the same day.
You get a rough number on the phone
We price from your address before anyone drives out, so you know early whether we are in your range.
A salesperson measures in your yard
The salesperson measures your fence line in feet. You pick the height, the style and the grade standing where the fence will go.
Your quote comes back the same day
One number, in writing, with the scope written next to it. Nobody stands in your kitchen waiting for a signature.
Work starts in about four days
A hundred crews means one is free when you are. It loads every material at our yard before the truck leaves, so it reaches you able to finish the job.
The crew finishes and you walk it
Most jobs finish the day they start. You walk the fence, the gates and the cleanup with the foreman before anyone leaves, and you say whether it is right.
What a fence replacement costs in Texas, and what moves it
Cost surveys from HomeGuide, Angi and HomeAdvisor put a six-foot fence in Texas at $12 to $28 a foot installed for chain link, $18 to $45 for wood and $45 to $90 for ornamental iron, before tear-out, gates and slope. A salesperson measures your fence line before anyone prices it, and these are the seven things that move the number.
| What we look at | Why it changes the number |
|---|---|
| Linear feet | The single biggest lever. We measure it rather than ask you to. |
| Fence height | A taller fence needs deeper posts and heavier framing. |
| Picket grade | Grades run #1 through #3. You pick yours in the yard, not on a form. |
| Gates | Each gate is hardware, framing and labor. Two gates is not one gate twice. |
| Old fence removal | Pulling posts and concrete out of hard ground takes crew hours. |
| Site access | A gate a truck cannot reach means the crew carries every board in by hand. |
| Slope and roots | A fence that steps down a grade, or crosses tree roots, is slower to set. |
Where the price advantage comes from
Master Halco named Johnson 2026 Largest Volume Customer for Southwest Region and 2026 Largest Volume Customer for the World. That buying power sets what we pay for a picket. A three-crew shop cannot buy wood at that price, and we hand the difference to you as the same fence for less.
Financing is available through Synchrony if you would rather pay monthly. Ask your salesperson for the terms when the quote comes back. See how financing works.
When the whole fence has to go
Some fences still have years left in them. Others are past the point where anything short of a new fence holds. There is a ten minute test you can run in your own yard.

Twenty thousand fences last year, and not one callback
These guys are great 😊 👍 They charged almost $900.00 less than three other companies for the same metal, coating and paint for my black metal fence in Del Webb of The Woodlands…Thanks Matthew.
Rita S., The WoodlandsGoogle review, Houston North office, October 2024 Great work. We had two gates installed in the back yard and all fence posts wrapped in cedar. Turned out amazing. Great communication and pricing was fair. I’d use Johnson Services Company again.
Travis H.Google review, Houston North office, August 2025 Options were presented to work within our budget. Supervisor confirmed timeline, crew arrived promptly, confirmed work scope, worked efficiently and left the property clean.

Common questions about replacing a fence
How long does a fence replacement take?
Most back yards finish the same day the crew starts. Longer runs and heavy gates take more than a day. Your salesperson gives you the day count before you sign anything.
Do you haul the old fence away?
Yes. The old panels, the old posts and the old concrete leave with the crew. Removal and haul off are part of the quoted job, not a line added later.
Do I need a permit to replace a fence?
A residential fence in Texas rarely needs one. Your city or your HOA can still cap the height or set the finished side. We check both before a post goes in the ground.
What does the warranty cover?
One year of craftsmanship on every job. It covers our work. Boards carry whatever the mill puts on them, so the warranty is workmanship and nothing else.
How soon can you start?
Work starts about four days after a signed quote on a typical job. Storm weeks run longer, and your salesperson will tell you when that is happening.
Can I pay for the fence monthly?
Financing is available through Synchrony, a third party. Ask your salesperson for the terms when your quote comes back.
